Literature for urban youth is not represented by literary writers of the generation of Putu Wijaya until Linda Christanty though. In urban youth lifestyle now, movies and musiklah the most popular as part of their arts and cultural life. Almost all novel adaptations of national films sold tens of thousands of copies in a matter of months. This novel genre has managed to become part of the lifestyle of urban youth thanks to the collaboration between the world of film and literary world. Collaboration means a tangible interface with life. Collaboration becomes a pattern to melt stagnation and the birth of the "grounded". An ideal example of collaboration from the world of music is rock band Santana geeks who collaborated with the popular teenage singer in their last three albums released in recent years. Literature should be part of the lifestyle of urban youth for literature should be part of real life including daily life with all the clutter problem that may be whiny, annoying, and not quality. Adolescent Lifestyle and Media
All types of media, be it Internet, television, movies, music, and magazines, big influence on our lifestyle today. Most of the media informed about adolescent lifestyle of the city, which incidentally mimics a modern lifestyle. So, do not be surprised if we were herded into highly consumptive.
Adolescence is the search for identity. We as young people start looking for a fit lifestyle and taste. We also began looking for an idol or a figure of identification that can be used as role models, both in the search for life style, speaking style, appearance, and others.
